Character Comparison
Mei Chaofeng
of LOCH & Li Mochou
of ROCH
Both were deeply in love and loyal to the end to their significant other.
Both were the most powerful female villain and widely feared and hated by the orthodox sects and heroic fighters. Mei in LOCH and Li in ROCH.
Mei obssessed over her teacher’s powerful manual Jiu Yin Zhen Jing, while Li obessessed over her teacher’s manual Yu Nu Xing Jing.
Mei was student of Dong Xie Huang Yaoshi, while Li was student of Gumu Bai, both sects were at odds with the Quanzhen Bai.
The estranged older sect sister of the main female character Huang Rong in LOCH, Xiao Longnu in ROCH.
Both were powerful fighters who alternately plagued and occassionally unwittingly helped the heroes but was never the most powerful or the main villains in LOCH & ROCH.
Mei had a conflict with the Lu Family of Returning Clouds Manor, while Li had a conflict with the Lu Family of Jiang Nan.
Both encountered Jiang Nan Qi Guai leader Ke Zhen’e in their first appearance.
Both had a remnant of goodness left in them. Mei when she helped Mu Nianci reunite and marry Yang Kang, and Li when she cared for baby Guo Xiang while she and Yang Guo were on the run from Jinlun Fawang and Ni Moxing.
Worth Thinking: Li Mochou once insulted Huang Yaoshi by saying that he had many students, but none were left to challenge her. If Mei Chaofeng had not died, could she have defeated Li Mochou? Was her Jiu Yin Bai Gu Zhao up to the task of taking on Li Mochao’s duster, poison needles, and Wu Du Zhang?
Ouyang Ke
of LOCH & Huo Do
of ROCH
Both were well-known lotharios who loved to visit brothels.
Both were always wearing white.
Both had sexual desires for the main female lead, Huang Rong in LOCH, Xiao Longnu in ROCH, but both ultimately failed.
Both kungfu is above average, but not great.
Both were heir of the kungfu of the most powerful villain, Xi Du Ouyang Feng in LOCH, Jinlun Fawang in ROCH.
Both carried a fan as a primary weapon.
Both were repeatedly defeated by Gai Bang’s Da Gou Bang Fa.
Ke served the Jin Empire in its war against the Song Dynasty, while Do served the Mongolian Empire in its war against the Song Dynasty.
Ke was killed by his so-called “brother” Yang Kang for lusting after Mu Nianci, while Do was killed by his sect brother Da Erba for betraying their teacher Jinlun Fawang.
Worth Thinking: If Ouyang Ke had not died, how would his kungfu have stacked up against Huo Do’s? Two guys who look alike wearing white with similar personal habits fighting each other? Sounds interesting.
