HSDS - Story Summary
HSDS is the final part in the Condor Trilogy following LOCH and ROCH. This story focuses on two generations, but mainly the second one. The first generation focuses on Zhang Chuisan and Yin Susu and the second generation focuses on their son, Zhang Wuji.
Zhang Chuisan is a student of the great kungfu master, the founder of Wudang Bai Zhang Sanfeng and Yin Susu is a member of the Ming Jiao, which the orthodox sects consider an Evil Cult. Since they are from two different backgrounds and their people are enemies, this couple has gone through many hardships to be together.
Zhang Chuisan and Yin Susu are trapped in an island with Jinmo Shiwang Xie Xun and they became good friends. Zhang Chuisan and Yin Susu got married in the island and gave birth to a son they named Zhang Wuji. Since they are afraid that their son will be alone in the island after they age and die, they decided to find ways to get out of the island.
Xie Xun decided to stay in the island and Zhang Chuisan and Yin Susu left the island with their son. A lot of power-greedy martial arts people are looking for Xie Xun because he’s got the Dragon Sabre that everyone wants. Both Zhang Chuisan and Yin Susu killed themselves because of their past and they want to keep the secret of where Xie Xun is.
Zhang Wuji becomes one of the best kungfu fighters at a young age since he accidentally uncovers Jiu Yang Zhen Jing and studies it for five years. Unlike his father who was sure of the woman he loves, Zhang Wuji is not sure which woman he likes the most. Zhou Zhiruo is his childhood friend and she’s grown to be a beautiful girl who likes him. Yin Li, her cousin, is not a pretty woman but she has been in love with him since they first met. Zhao Ming, a Mongolian princess, is also in love with her even though at first he dislikes her a lot he though she was evil. And then there is mysterious Xiao Zhao, who’s smart and the most beautiful of all.
Zhang Wuji’s life is always put in danger by greedy people who want to know where Xie Xun is. They try many ways to make Zhang Wuji tell them where his godfather is. Of course the righteous Zhang Wuji never told anyone but he decides to go back to the island to warn his godfather. He goes to the island with Zhao Ming, Xiao Zhao, and Zhou Zhiruo.
When they get on the island, some people already found his godfather. Yin Li and her master Jinhua Bobo are also on the island. A lot of things happen afterwards. Xiao Zhao’s real identity is revealed and Yin Li is dead mysteriously. When the Persion Ming Cult came to take back Jinhoa Bobo, who is actually one of the four protectors of Ming Cult, the Purple Dragon, Xiao Zhao is actually revealed as her daughter, and so she decides to go back to Persia and become their “saint woman” so they won’t kill her mother and release Zhang Wuji and the others.
While asleep on the island, someone killed Yin Li and when they awaken the next morning, Zhao Ming is gone, and so is the Dragon Sabre and the Heaven Sword. So they all suspect that Zhao Ming killed Yin Li and stole the sabre and sword. Zhang Wuji swears to avenge his cousin.
While trapped on the island, Xie Xun comes to like Zhou Ziruo a lot and tells Zhang Wuji to marry her. But when they get back to the mainland, Xie Xun suddenly disappears and he immediately assumed that Zhao Ming has something to do with this. However, when he meets Zhao Ming, he can’t bear to kill her because he has feelings for her.
When Zhou Zhiruo and Zhang Wuji are about to marry, Zhao Ming tells Zhang Wuji that she knew where his godfather was. He leaves the wedding ceremony, which leads Zhou Zhiruo into great embarrassment and vowing that she’ll get revenge. She became cold-hearted and uncaring.
Meanwhile, Zhang Wuji and the others try to rescue Xie Xun, who is held captive by Shaolin. After much fighting and explanations, they finally find out that Cheng Kun is behind all this, and so after Xie Xun kills Cheng Kun, he becomes a monk in Shaolin.
After winning agaist the Mongols, Zhang Wuji abdicates his leadership of Ming Cult and gives it Yang Xiao. He then goes to find Zhao Ming and they live happily ever after.
