Rage and Passion (1993)

This series centered on Wang Chongyang's life before he becomes a taoist. He was never supposed to be born, as his parents' love was forbidden. It also tells of his love for Lin Chaoying (founder of Gumu Bai). Even though, this was mostly made up by TVB, it still told simple details of the characters in LOCH. In this series, Wang Chongyang was the winner of the Hua San Luen Jian and therefore possessed the Jiu Yin Zhen Jing, which he entrusted to his sect brother, Zhou Botong, before he died. Since he loved his country more than Lin Chaoying, he abdicated his life for the glory of his country, but then when he lost, he retreated and built the Quanzhen Jiao.

Mystery of the Condor Heroes (1993)

This other series mainly evolve around the detailed story of Huang Yaoshi and his wife, who was still alive and well, and pregnant. Side stories include Ouyang Feng raping his sister-in-law, who afterwards bore his only son Ouyang Ke, and also the part where Huang Yaoshi tricked Zhou Botong into destroying the only Jiu Yin Zhen Jing, but had his wife memorized the entire book, who then fell sick and died after finishing the written version, which prompted Huang Yaoshi to never study the manual. Other stories also pertained to Huang Yaoshi's five loyal pupils, and how the two of them, Mai Chaofeng and Chen Xuanfeng, stole the Jiu Yin Zhen Jing manual, and caused the other five pupils' legs to be crippled.

Condor Heroes Return (1994)

This TVB-made series tells thorough details on the lives of Duan Zhixing and Hong Qigong... how they get to be Duan Huangye (Southern Emperor) and Bei Gai (Nothern Beggar). Duan Zhixing was born out of wedlock and in the end his father, the Emperor of Dali, appointed him to be his successor. When he became successor, he appointed Lau Ying (Ying Gu) as his Empress, whom betrayed him and slept with Zhao Botong, and then bore a son (as witnessed in LOCH flashback). When her son was dying because of Qiu Qianren, the only person who could've helped was Duan Zhixing and he refused, causing Lau Ying's hair to turn white. Meanwhile, Hong Qigong succeeded and Gai Bang appointed him the leader of their clan.

Legend of the Golden Lion (1994)

This series mostly tells the story of the Golden Lion King Jinmo Shiwang Xie Xun in HSDS. He was young and handsome, and was one of the four great kings of the Ming Jiao. The four kings include: the Green Bat, the White Eagle, the Purple Dragon, and the Golden Lion. Xie Xun was a great man with excellent kungfu. His teacher, Cheng Kun, however, wanting to destroy Ming Jiao, because he was in love with the leader's wife, wreaked havoc Xie Xun's life by raping and murdering his wife and entire thirteen member of his family. The rage in Xie Xun rose to a high level, killing everyone in sight and signing it Cheng Kun's name, so that he'd show up and he can take revenge. Side stories include right hand of Ming cult Yang Xiao and left hand Fan Yao rivaling for the love of the exquisite Purple Dragon (whose daughter later in HSDS is Xiao Zhao, and she is none other than the Golden Flower Granny).
